Hard water can cause many problems, especially for businesses in the hospitality industry that rely heavily on a good water supply, for their dish and glass washers. Hard water can interfere with soaps, often resulting in crockery not washing properly, or appearing dirtier than when you first put it into wash. It can also build up limescale, which can impair or damage components of your machine in the long run. These issues can easily be prevented by the installation of a water softener, which will reduce the concentration of calcium, magnesium and other ions that are found in hard water. Purchasing a water softener will save you costs in the long run, as it’s much more inexpensive than replacing dishwasher parts, or buying a brand new machine.

About
Here at Dishwashers Direct we stock both manual and automatic water softeners to suit the needs of each business, and target the issues that they’re having with their water. Our 12 litre manual softener is suitable for all glass washers and for medium front-loading dishwashers. It is easy to fit and connects in line with the flexible water hose, which is also supplied with the softener. If you’re looking for a step up from the 12 litre, we also stock a 20 litre manual water softener which is suitable to use with both glass washers and medium to heavy, front loading dishwashers.
An alternative option to the manual water softeners is our fully automatic metered, electronic water softeners. At Dishwashers Direct we have a choice of two automatic softeners, each combatting hard water at different temperatures. The first is suitable to use in glass washers, and commercial dishwashers that have cold water feeds. The second is suitable for appliances that use hot water supplies.
Each type of softener works in a slightly different way to combat hard water. If you are unsure which water softener is the most suitable for your appliances, Dishwashers Direct can advise you and ensure that you purchase the perfect product for your business.
